To build your clipboard history, the plugin reads what you copy (text and pictures) and keeps it on your PC only, encrypted with your Windows account. It sends nothing to us or to anyone. It has no account, no online service, no analytics and no telemetry, and it makes no network requests of its own.
ExcludeClipboardContentFromMonitorProcessing, CanIncludeInClipboardHistory set to 0 and CanUploadToCloudClipboard set to 0; the older Clipboard Viewer Ignore is honored too. When one of them is present, the plugin does not read the copy at all. A copy from an app that sets none of these flags goes into the history like any other copy.| Data | Where it is stored | How long |
|---|---|---|
| The history: the copied text or picture of each item, a short preview of the text, a small thumbnail of the picture, the time it was copied | On your PC only, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\GRAMSHIFT\Clipboard History (your local app data, not the roaming part), compressed and encrypted with Windows' data protection for your Windows account (DPAPI). Another Windows user of the PC cannot read it. | Until the item leaves the history (the history keeps the number of items you choose, 10 to 200; the oldest unpinned item goes first), or you delete it with Clear History. |
| The same, with After a restart: Delete (memory only) | In the memory of the plugin only. Nothing of the history is written to the disk, and files of an earlier run are deleted when the plugin starts. | Until the Stream Deck app closes. |
| Key settings (copy number, the id of a pinned item, what a press does, look) and the options shared by all keys (history size, pictures, after a restart) | Saved by the Stream Deck app on your PC. They hold no copied content: a pinned item is referred to by a random id. | Until you remove the key or the plugin. |
A file named paused in the same folder | On your PC, while recording is paused (so that the pause stays after a restart). It holds no copied content. | Until you resume recording. |
| The pictures of the keys: a few words of a copied text or a small thumbnail of a picture (as allowed by each key's setting) | Sent to the Stream Deck app on your PC to be shown on the keys. The Stream Deck app may keep the last picture of a key with its profile on your PC, and a profile you export may carry it. | As the Stream Deck app keeps profiles. |
| Technical log | The Stream Deck plugin framework writes a small log file (mainly connection errors) in the plugin's folder on your PC. The plugin writes no copied content into it. | On your PC only. |
| Anything sent to GRAMSHIFT servers | — | Nothing. The plugin has no server of its own and makes no network requests of its own. |
The keys show a preview of what you copied. Text that looks like a password or a key is shown as dots unless you choose otherwise, and you can hide all content on a key in its settings. Anyone who can see your Stream Deck can see the previews you allow.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\GRAMSHIFT\Clipboard History. The plugin is sold on the Elgato Marketplace. Purchases, payments and licenses are handled by Elgato (Corsair) and its payment provider under Elgato's own terms and privacy policy. GRAMSHIFT does not receive card details. If Elgato provides us with sales records (for example the date, country and amount of a sale), we use them only for accounting and tax.
If you contact us, we receive what you choose to send (for example your email address, your message and any screenshots). We use it only to answer you. Please do not send us copied content you want to keep private. Email to contact@gramshift.com is forwarded by our email forwarding provider (ImprovMX) to a mailbox hosted by Google (Gmail), so those providers process support emails on our behalf.
The plugin works only as a tool on your own computer: GRAMSHIFT does not receive or process anything from it. For sales records and support emails, GRAMSHIFT is the controller. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering requests and on legal obligations (for example tax records). GRAMSHIFT is based in Japan, so this information is processed in Japan and by the providers named above.
You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or object to its use, by emailing contact@gramshift.com. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
If the plugin ever starts to send or store other data, this policy will be updated before that change is released, and the date above will change.
