Please include your Windows version, your Stream Deck app version, the version of BeamNG.drive, the car you drove, the text of the "Status" line in the key's settings, and, if possible, a photo or screenshot of the key. Ideas for new keys are welcome too.
127.0.0.1 and the port to 4444 (or the port you set in the keys). The plugin only listens on that port. It does not change any game file, and you do not install anything into the game.
| Key | Shows | Press / dial |
|---|---|---|
| Gear | The gear (R, N, 1, 2 …; P on an automatic shows as N, because the game sends both the same) with a row of shift lights that fill as the revs rise and flash blue at the shift point, and a number you choose below it (speed, rpm, fuel, water or oil temperature, boost, throttle or brake). The shift point is the car's own shift light when it has one, else learned from the highest revs seen with this car, or the rpm you type in Shift lights at. | Press: sends the key you set. Stream Deck + dial: turn to change the number, push or touch to send the key you set |
| Readout | One number: speed, engine speed (with a bar once the top revs are learned), fuel (red when low), water or oil temperature, boost (from the turbo value the game sends; "no boost" when the car sends none), throttle, brake, clutch, or all three pedals as bars. | Press: sends the key you set |
| Dash | Gear, engine speed, speed and fuel on one key. | Press: sends the key you set |
| Light | One dash light as the car shows it: parking brake, high beam, left or right signal, hazards, engine running, ABS, ESC / traction control, oil warning or shift light. "not on this car" when the car does not have it. | Press: switches it with the game's default key (parking brake P, high beam N, signals , and ., hazards /, engine V: held 1 second to start it when the car shows it off, a short press to stop it). ABS, ESC, oil and shift light only show |
| Game Control | The name of the control it presses. | Press: the game's default key for shift up (X), shift down (Z), gearbox mode (Q), ignition (V, held 1 second: starts the engine; set Press to Short press to switch the ignition instead), horn (H), parking brake held (Space), fog lights (Alt+N), lightbar (Shift+N), recover / rewind (Insert), reset vehicle (R), load home position (Home), set home position (Ctrl+Home), next camera (C), enter / exit vehicle (F) or pause physics (J). Or Other: your own name and key |
Every key has a Look setting: Classic, Neon or Carbon. Keys with numbers have Units: km/h, °C and bar, or mph, °F and psi. The keys and settings pages are in English or Japanese, following the Stream Deck app.
Every key has the same press settings: Key to send (empty on Light and Game Control keys = the game's default key; if you changed it in the game's Options > Controls, type yours), Press (short press, or held for 0.5 to 5 seconds), Safety (send only while the game is the active window, on by default) and Game program. Keys are sent by their place on a US keyboard. The Status line shows what the key receives and what happened to the last press.
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| NO DATA · turn on OutGauge | Nothing has arrived on the port yet. Turn on OutGauge in the game (see Getting started) with the same port as the key, then drive. |
| NO DATA · not driving | Data stopped for 3 seconds: you left the vehicle, the game is in a menu, or it was closed. The keys come back as soon as data arrives again. |
| LOADING · car not ready | The game is loading a vehicle and sends empty data for now. |
| OTHER DATA (red) | Data arrives on the port, but not in the OutGauge form the plugin reads (for example another program uses the same port). Choose another port in the game and in the keys. |
| PORT BUSY (red) | Another program already uses this port on your PC. Close it, or choose another port in the game and in the keys. |
| PORT? (red) | The port in the key's settings is not a number from 1024 to 65535. |
Check that OutGauge UDP protocol is on in Options > Other > Protocols, that the IP is 127.0.0.1 and that the port is the same in the game and in the key's settings (4444 unless you changed it). The Status line in the key's settings says what the plugin receives.
Open the key's settings and read the Status line: it says whether the last press was sent, or why not. Presses reach BeamNG.drive only while it is the active window. If you changed the binding in the game's Options > Controls, type your key in Key to send. Windows does not let Stream Deck send keys to a game that runs as administrator; start the game normally.
On a car without its own shift light, the plugin learns the top revs as you drive, so the first run with a new car can be off until you have used the full rev range once. To set it yourself, type an rpm such as 6500 in Shift lights at.
Yes. Set Receive from to "This PC and the network (a second PC)" and, in the game on the other PC, set the OutGauge IP to the address of the PC with the Stream Deck. Presses still go only to a game on the PC with the Stream Deck.
No. One press of a Stream Deck key sends one key, as if you pressed it on your keyboard; it never presses anything by itself and has no macros. If the plugin is closed while it holds a key down, it lets that key up the next time the game is in front.
Windows 11, Stream Deck app 6.9 or later, BeamNG.drive on PC.
