Get started

  1. Install the profile from the Marketplace, or double-click the .streamDeckProfile file and choose Install in the Stream Deck app.
  2. Select the profile on your Stream Deck. PREV and NEXT at the bottom right move between the 10 pages. The MORE key opens a folder with more keys of the same page, and BACK returns.
  3. Keep Krita in front and press a key. For the View keys with a small pointer mark (Fit to View, Fit to View Width, Rotate Left, Rotate Right, Reset Rotation, Mirror View Around Cursor), keep the mouse pointer over the canvas.

Questions

A key does nothing.
Check that Krita is the active window and that a document is open. Some commands need something to work on: for example Feather and Copy Selection to New Layer need a selection, Merge Down needs a layer below. An open dialog or popup takes the keys until it is closed.

A key does something else.
The keys send Krita's default shortcuts (shortcut scheme "Krita Default", canvas input profile "Krita Default"). If you changed a shortcut in Krita (Settings > Configure Krita > Keyboard Shortcuts or Canvas Input Settings), change that key's Hotkey in the Stream Deck app to match, or restore the shortcut in Krita.

Ten Brushes and Ten Scripts keys do nothing.
These 19 keys run the brush presets 0–9 and scripts 1–9 that you assign in Krita: Tools > Scripts > Ten Brushes / Ten Scripts. A slot with no preset or script does nothing. Both plugins are on by default; if you turned one off, turn it on in Settings > Configure Krita > Python Plugin Manager and restart Krita.

Which Krita versions?
The keys use the default shortcuts of Krita 6.0.4.1, 5.3.4.1 and 5.2.16, and each key is the same in all three.

Keyboard layouts.
No symbol keys are used. Only letters, digits, F-keys (F2–F6), Tab, Enter, Backspace, Insert, Delete, Page Up and Page Down are sent (with Ctrl, Shift or Alt); their key codes are the same on Japanese and US layouts, so the profile is made for both. Shortcuts on symbol keys (for example brush size [ ]) are not included.

Mac, Stream Deck XL or Stream Deck +?
This version is for Windows with the 15-key Stream Deck (MK.2). Other devices are not covered in this version.

Tested on Windows 11 with a Japanese keyboard layout.
