The plugin does not collect anything about you. It has no account, no ID, no analytics and no telemetry, and it sends nothing to GRAMSHIFT or to any other server on the internet. Everything it does happens on your PC: Claude Code tells the plugin about its sessions through a local connection (127.0.0.1), and the plugin answers Claude Code the same way. Your settings stay in the Stream Deck app on your PC.
| When | What | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| You press Connect | The plugin adds its hooks to Claude Code's settings file (%USERPROFILE%\.claude\settings.json). The hooks carry a random key, and the plugin refuses events without it, so a web page or a program that cannot read your settings file cannot send it events. Before the first change it keeps a copy of the file next to it (settings.json.bak-agentkeys). Your other settings keep their values, and the file keeps its indent and line ends. Disconnect takes the hooks out again. | Stays on your PC. |
| A Claude Code session starts, works, asks or ends | Claude Code sends the event to the plugin (for most events through a short Windows PowerShell command that it starts in the background): the session's ID, its folder, the tool it uses and, for a permission request or a question, what it asks about (for example the command or the file name) and the options. | Only to the plugin on the same PC (http://127.0.0.1). Not sent anywhere else. |
| A session key is shown | The plugin reads new lines of the session's own transcript file, which Claude Code keeps on your PC, to find the session's title, whether it runs in VS Code, and the token counts of its last reply (to show the size of its context). | Read on your PC only. |
| You press Allow, Always, Deny or Answer | The plugin gives Claude Code your answer. For Deny, the message you set on the key is given to Claude, which then uses it in your conversation like anything you type into Claude Code. | To Claude Code on the same PC. What Claude Code does with your conversation is covered by Anthropic's terms, not by this policy. |
| You press a Session or Next key | The plugin brings the session's window to the front, using a small helper in Windows PowerShell that looks at window titles. For VS Code and editors like it, it then opens the session there with the editor's own link. | Stays on your PC. |
The plugin makes no internet connections of its own. Requests, commands and file names are kept in memory only while they are shown on the keys.
| Data | Where it is kept |
|---|---|
| Key settings: the look, the message and choice of the Deny key, the option number of an Answer key | In your Stream Deck profile on your PC, saved by the Stream Deck app like any key. |
| The sessions on the keys: ID, folder, title, whether it runs in VS Code or the terminal, its key, when it was last seen and the place of its transcript file | In the plugin's settings in the Stream Deck app on your PC, so the keys stay the same after Stream Deck restarts. Holding a Session key for 1 second takes that session off. |
| The copy of Claude Code's settings file made at the first Connect | Next to the settings file (settings.json.bak-agentkeys). You can delete it. |
| Technical log | The Stream Deck app's plugin system may keep a small log file in the plugin's folder on your PC. |
| Anything sent to GRAMSHIFT servers | Nothing. |
On your PC, the plugin talks to the Stream Deck app through a local connection (127.0.0.1) that the Stream Deck app provides to every plugin. If you export or share a Stream Deck profile, the key settings in it go with it. If you use a backup or sync feature of the Stream Deck app, Elgato's terms apply to it.
The plugin is sold on the Elgato Marketplace. Purchases, payments and licenses are handled by Elgato (Corsair) and its payment provider under Elgato's own terms and privacy policy. GRAMSHIFT never receives card details. If Elgato provides us with sales records (for example the date, country and amount of a sale), we use them only for accounting and tax.
If you contact us, we receive what you choose to send (for example your email address, your message and any screenshots). We use it only to answer you. Please do not send code or secrets from your projects. Email to contact@gramshift.com is forwarded by our email forwarding provider (ImprovMX) to a mailbox hosted by Google (Gmail), so those providers process support emails on our behalf.
The plugin works as a tool on your own computer: GRAMSHIFT does not receive or process anything from it. Claude Code is made by Anthropic, not by GRAMSHIFT. For sales records and support emails, GRAMSHIFT is the controller. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering requests and on legal obligations (for example tax records). GRAMSHIFT is based in Japan, so this information is processed in Japan and by the providers named above.
You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or object to its use, by emailing contact@gramshift.com. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Press Disconnect before removing the plugin to take its hooks out of Claude Code's settings file; otherwise they stay in the file until you remove them. Removing the plugin in the Stream Deck app removes its folder and log. The key settings and the plugin's settings are held by the Stream Deck app, and we have not verified whether the Stream Deck app deletes them when the plugin is removed. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle the request and meet legal obligations; you can ask us to delete them. Sales records are kept for up to 7 years for accounting and tax.
If the plugin ever starts to send or store other data, this policy will be updated before that change is released, and the date above will change.
