Product page: Temp & Cache Cleaner
Email contact@gramshift.com in English or Japanese. We reply within 7 business days, usually sooner. Please include your Windows version, your Stream Deck app version, and a photo or screenshot of the key and of its settings (the Status line says what the plugin found). Ideas for new categories are welcome too.
Only files older than the age under Delete files are deleted: older than 24 hours (the default), older than 7 days, or of any age. At any age, a program that is running now can lose temp files it still needs, so choose 24 hours if you are not sure. Files that Windows reports as in use are kept, and a browser's cache is kept while the browser is running, also when it runs only in the background. Deleted files are gone for good and cannot be restored. The keys count again about once a minute, and after every press.
| Key | Meaning |
|---|---|
Junk, a size and a number of files | The space the old junk files of every category take now, and how many there are. |
Clean (or the category), a size, "hold 1 s" | The space that holding the key would free now. With Hold 1 s set to do nothing, the line shows the number of files instead and the key never deletes. |
Freed, "nothing to clean" | Held: no file was old enough to delete. Nothing is wrong. |
HOLD, "to clean" | Keep holding: the key cleans when 1 second is reached. Let go earlier and nothing is deleted. |
| "hold 1 s to clean" | You pressed briefly: the key counted again. Hold it to clean. |
| "cleaning" | Deleting now. The key then shows the result. |
Freed and a size | The space you got back. The line below says the number of files, or what was kept. |
| "close Chrome first" (or another browser) | That browser was running, so its cache was kept. Close the browser and hold the key again. If it still says so, the browser keeps running in the background: see the question below. |
| "Chrome is open" (or another browser) | On a Category key: the browser is running now, so holding the key will keep its cache. |
| "3 in use, kept" | Windows reported that a program is using these files, so they were not deleted. Their space comes back after that program closes and you clean again. |
| "browser not checked" | The plugin could not check which browsers are open, so it kept every browser cache this time. |
| "not found" | That folder is not on this PC (the program is not installed, or has nothing cached). |
| "none chosen" | No category is ticked under Clean: holding the key deletes nothing. |
Red, FAILED, "not cleaned" | The clean stopped with an error; nothing more was deleted. Hold the key again; if it stays, write to us with a screenshot of the Status line. |
| "Windows only" / "no user folder" | The plugin works on Windows 10 and 11 only, and it needs your user folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%). Without it, it does not read or delete anything. |
Can I get deleted files back?
No. Cleaned files are deleted for good, not moved to a place you can restore them from. The folders hold files that Windows and your programs make again when they need them. If you want to be careful, choose older than 7 days, or set Hold 1 s to do nothing and use the key only to watch the size.
Will I be logged out of websites?
No. Cookies, passwords, history and bookmarks are not in the cache folders and are not touched. Pages may load a little slower the first time after a clean, while the browser downloads them again.
Why is a little space left after a clean?
Files newer than the age you chose are kept, and so are files in use and the cache of an open browser. The key shows what was kept.
It says "close Edge first" (or Chrome, Brave) although I closed the browser.
The browser still runs in the background, so its cache is in use. Turn that off once, then close the browser and hold the key again:
Can it clean the Windows Update cache or the Windows temp folder?
No. Those folders need administrator rights, and the plugin cleans only the junk folders of your own user account.
Does it follow shortcuts or links?
No. Links to other folders are never followed, and nothing outside the fixed junk folders is deleted.
Does it work on Mac?
No. This plugin is for Windows 10 and 11 only.
