Product: Window Opacity Keys (Stream Deck plugin for Windows) · Provider: GRAMSHIFT (Tokyo, Japan) · Last updated: 2026-10-06

Summary

The plugin makes windows see-through or click-through, and puts them back, when you press its keys. To do that it reads a few facts about windows and programs on your PC (listed below). It does not send any of it anywhere, and it does not collect or send any data about you or your PC. It has no account, no online service, no analytics and no telemetry, and it makes no network requests of its own.

What the plugin reads from Windows

The plugin does not read the contents of any window, does not take screenshots, does not read what you type, and does not read or modify the memory or files of any program.

Where data goes

DataWhere it is processedStored by the plugin?
Title of the window in front, and of a click-through windowRead from Windows on your PC; drawn on the key and written into the Status line of the settings page. Both are shown by the Stream Deck app on your PC.No. Not written to disk by the plugin, not logged, not sent anywhere.
For each window the plugin has changed and not yet put back: its handle number, process and thread numbers, window class name, the start time of the process, the file name of the program, the style bits and opacity settings it had before, the opacity the plugin set, and which key made it click-throughKept in memory on your PC, and handed to the Stream Deck app on your PC as the plugin's "global settings", so that the window can still be put back if the plugin is restartedOn your PC only, in the Stream Deck app's settings, until the window is put back or closed. The window title is not part of it.
File names of programs that have a window openRead from Windows on your PC; shown in the "App" list of the settings pageNo. The one you choose is saved as a key setting (see the next row).
Key settings (steps, opacity, the file name of the chosen app)Saved by the Stream Deck app on your PC, like the settings of any other keyOnly in your Stream Deck profile on your PC.
Technical logThe Stream Deck plugin framework writes a small log file (mainly connection errors) in the plugin's folder on your PC. The plugin writes no window title and no program name into it.On your PC only. It is not sent anywhere.
Anything sent to GRAMSHIFT servers—Nothing. The plugin has no server of its own and makes no network requests of its own.

The plugin talks only to the Stream Deck app on the same PC, through a local connection (127.0.0.1) that the Stream Deck app provides to every plugin. If you export or share a Stream Deck profile, the key settings in it (including the file name of an app you chose) go with it.

Purchases

The plugin is sold on the Elgato Marketplace. Purchases, payments and licenses are handled by Elgato (Corsair) and its payment provider under Elgato's own terms and privacy policy. GRAMSHIFT never receives card details. If Elgato provides us with sales records (for example the date, country and amount of a sale), we use them only for accounting and tax.

Support requests

If you contact us, we receive what you choose to send (for example your email address, your message and any screenshots; a photo of a key or a screenshot of the settings page can show the title of a window or the names of programs that were open). We use it only to answer you. Email to contact@gramshift.com is forwarded by our email forwarding provider (ImprovMX) to a mailbox hosted by Google (Gmail), so those providers process support emails on our behalf.

Our role and legal basis

The plugin works only as a tool on your own computer: GRAMSHIFT does not receive or process anything from it. For sales records and support emails, GRAMSHIFT is the controller. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering requests and on legal obligations (for example tax records). GRAMSHIFT is based in Japan, so this information is processed in Japan and by the providers named above.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or object to its use, by emailing contact@gramshift.com. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Retention and deletion

The plugin keeps nothing of its own except its key settings, the list described above and its log file, on your PC. An entry leaves the list when a key press puts its window back, or when the plugin has read three times in a row that the window is gone. When the Stream Deck app quits, the plugin puts the windows back but the list itself is not rewritten at that moment: it is cleared the next time the plugin starts, when the plugin drops every entry whose window is closed or is already as it was. The log file is in the plugin's own folder. Key settings and the list are held by the Stream Deck app together with your profiles. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle the request and meet legal obligations; you can ask us to delete them. Sales records are kept for up to 7 years for accounting and tax.

Changes

If the plugin ever starts to send or store other data, this policy will be updated before that change is released, and the date above will change.
