The app does not send your Jira data, your checklists or your templates to GRAMSHIFT or to anyone else. It runs inside Jira, in the browser of the person using it, with that person's own Jira permissions. Checklists are saved in Jira itself, as a property of each issue, and templates as a property of each project. They stay in your Atlassian site.
The app asks Jira for four permissions: read:jira-work, write:jira-work, read:jira-user and manage:jira-project. It writes only its own checklist property on issues and its own template property on projects, and only when the signed-in user is allowed to by Jira. It changes no fields, comments, attachments, statuses or project settings.
| Data | Where it is processed | Stored? |
|---|---|---|
| Checklists (including item text, due dates and assignee account IDs) | In the user's browser, inside Jira | In your Jira site, as a property of the issue. |
| Templates | In the user's browser, inside Jira | In your Jira site, as a property of the project. |
| Display names, permissions, work types | In the user's browser, inside Jira | No. They are held in browser memory only while the page is open. |
| Anything sent to GRAMSHIFT servers | — | Nothing. The app has no server of its own and has no permission to contact anything outside Atlassian. |
The app's code is hosted by Atlassian (Forge). The app uses no Forge functions, no Forge storage, no cookies, no analytics, and no third-party services. The only thing it keeps in the browser is one flag, so that it asks for a review only once. Workflow validators are expressions that Jira itself evaluates inside your site.
The app contains no AI. Assistants you connect yourself to the Atlassian Rovo MCP server can read and write checklists through Atlassian with the permissions of the account you connected. What such an assistant does with that data is governed by its provider's terms and yours, and that data does not pass through GRAMSHIFT. The prompt offered in the app is plain text that you copy yourself.
When a site installs, evaluates or buys the app through the Atlassian Marketplace, Atlassian shares licensing and contact information with app providers (for example the site, the license type and period, and the technical and billing contacts). GRAMSHIFT uses this only to manage licenses, answer support requests and meet legal obligations, and does not sell it. Payments are processed by Atlassian; GRAMSHIFT never receives card details.
If you email us, we receive what you choose to send (for example your email address, your message or screenshots). We use it only to answer you. Please do not send issue content unless it is needed to solve the problem; a checklist with sample text is usually enough. Email to contact@gramshift.com is forwarded by our email forwarding provider (ImprovMX) to a mailbox hosted by Google (Gmail), so those providers process support emails on our behalf.
For Jira data, checklists and templates, the app acts only as a tool inside your Atlassian site and your browser: GRAMSHIFT does not receive or process them. For license and contact information received from Atlassian and for support emails, GRAMSHIFT is the controller. We rely on our legitimate interest in managing licenses and answering requests, and on legal obligations (for example tax records). GRAMSHIFT is based in Japan, so this information is processed in Japan and by the providers named above.
You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or object to its use, by emailing contact@gramshift.com. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
GRAMSHIFT keeps no Jira data. Checklists and templates stay in your Jira site for as long as the issue or project exists, and deleting an item, a template or the issue removes them. Uninstalling the app does not delete them: they stay stored in your Jira site but are no longer shown. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle the request and meet legal obligations; you can ask us to delete them. License and contact information from Atlassian is kept while the license is active and for up to 7 years afterwards for accounting and tax records.
If the app ever starts to send or store data in any other way, this policy will be updated before that change is released, and the date above will change.
