Contact

Email contact@gramshift.com in English or Japanese. We reply within 7 business days, usually sooner. Please include your Windows version, your Stream Deck app version, the browser and its version, and, if possible, a photo or screenshot of the key and of its settings (cover profile names or email addresses if you prefer).

Open Profile

  1. Install the plugin from the Elgato Marketplace. In the Stream Deck app, find Browser Profile Launcher in the action list and drag Open Profile onto a key.
  2. Select the key. Choose the Browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave or Firefox). The Profile list then shows the profiles that browser has on this PC, with the account email for signed-in Chrome, Edge and Brave profiles. Choose one.
  3. Optionally enter a Web address, for example https://mail.example.com (mail.example.com also works and becomes https://mail.example.com/). Only http:// and https:// addresses can be opened.
  4. Press the key. The browser opens with that profile, without the profile picker. If the browser is already open, a new window of that profile opens (or, with a web address, the page opens in that profile).

Private Window

Set it up like Open Profile. A press opens an Incognito window (Chrome, Brave), an InPrivate window (Edge) or a private window (Firefox) of the chosen profile. The key has a purple background and a dashed ring.

Profile Cycle

  1. Drag Profile Cycle onto a key and choose the browser. Tick the profiles to go through (none ticked = all profiles of that browser). Choose a normal or private window.
  2. A short press shows the next profile on the key (for example 2/3 · hold to open). Nothing opens.
  3. Hold the key for half a second to open the profile shown.

What the key shows

KeyMeaning
Picture or letter, the profile name, the browser nameReady. The picture is the signed-in account's picture when the browser keeps one; otherwise the first letter of the profile name in the profile's color.
Gray, set profileNo profile chosen yet for this browser (also after you change the browser).
Red, not installedThe browser program was not found. The plugin looks where the browser registered itself with Windows ("App Paths" in the registry) and in the usual install folders (Program Files, and your user folder for per-user installs). A portable browser that is not installed is not found.
Red, no profilesThe browser's profile list was not found or could not be read. Start the browser once, then choose it again in the key's settings.
Red, not foundThe chosen profile is no longer in the browser's list (it was deleted or renamed). Choose a profile again.
Red, bad URLThe web address is not an http:// or https:// address.
Red for a few seconds, can't openThe browser program could not be started. The reason is shown under Status in the key's settings.

When a press can not open the browser, the key also shows the Stream Deck warning triangle; when it opens, a check mark.

Common questions

A new profile does not appear in the list.
Browsers write their profile list when they close or shortly after a change. Close the browser (or wait a moment), then choose the browser again in the key's settings.

Firefox opens the profile manager or says the profile is in use.
Firefox can run only one copy per profile. If the profile is open in another Firefox installation or copy, close it first.

Chrome Beta, Dev, Canary, Chromium, Opera or Vivaldi?
Not supported in this version.

Does it need a browser extension?
No. It uses the browsers' own start options (--profile-directory for Chrome, Edge and Brave; -P for Firefox).

Does it read my history or passwords?
No. It reads only the profile list and the account picture. See the Privacy Policy.

Does it work on Mac?
No. This plugin is for Windows 10 or later only.
