One Submission Per Email: Support

App for the Wix Forms app · Provider: GRAMSHIFT (Tokyo, Japan) · Last updated: 2026-10-11

One Submission Per Email limits a Wix form to one submission per email address. When someone submits again with an email that was already used, the form shows your own message right under the email field and the duplicate is not saved. It works on the forms you already built with the current Wix Forms app, with no code.

Email contact@gramshift.com in English or Japanese. Questions, bug reports and ideas are all welcome, and every message is read. For a problem, please tell us the site's URL, the name of the protected form, what you expected and what happened, and include a screenshot of the app's page in your dashboard if you can. Please do not send your visitors' email addresses unless they are needed to solve the problem.

Get started

  1. Install One Submission Per Email from the Wix App Market. Your site needs the current Wix Forms app; the site's CMS is added if it is not there yet.
  2. Open the app from your site's dashboard.
  3. Tick the form you want to protect. The email field is picked for you; if the form has more than one, choose the one to use.
  4. Choose the time period (once for good, or once every 1, 7, 30, 90 or 365 days), write the message visitors see when they try again, and turn on the Gmail rule if you want it.
  5. Press Save. The form shows as Protected, and counting starts from that moment.

Frequently asked questions

How do I limit a Wix form to one submission per email?

Install One Submission Per Email, open it from your dashboard, tick the form you want to protect and click Save. The email field is picked for you. From then on, a second submission with the same email is blocked and your message appears under the email field. No code is needed.

Can I prevent duplicate form submissions without rebuilding my form?

Yes. The app works on the Wix Forms forms you already have. You don't move to a different form builder or recreate fields, so your design, notifications and submissions list stay as they are.

What does a visitor see when they try to submit again?

Your own message, shown in red right under the email field (up to 500 characters, in any language you write it in). The form also shows its standard line saying the form could not be submitted. The second submission is not saved.

Can I allow one entry per day, week or month instead of once forever?

Yes. Choose once for good, or once every day, 7, 30, 90 or 365 days. For example, pick 30 days for a monthly drawing.

Will people get around it by changing capital letters or using Gmail +tags?

Capital letters and extra spaces are always ignored, so Ann@Example.com and ann@example.com are the same. Turn on the Gmail rule to also treat dots and +tags in Gmail addresses (and googlemail.com) as one address. The rule covers every entry, including ones saved before you turned it on, and turning it off never frees an address that has already entered. A completely different email address counts as a different person.

How do I let someone submit the form again?

In the Entries section, choose the form, enter their email and click Remove entry. To let everyone enter again, use Clear entries on that form. Deleting a submission in Wix Forms does not free the email by itself, so use Remove entry.

Do visitors need to log in or create an account?

No. The limit is based on the email address typed into the form, so it works for guests as well as members.

Does the app store my visitors' email addresses?

No. Each entry is kept as a one-way hash, mixed with a random value unique to your site, in a private collection on your own site. The address cannot be read back from it. When you remove one person's entry, the app hashes the email you type and removes the matching entry. Details: Privacy Policy.

Does it work with the old (legacy) Wix Forms?

It works with forms built in the current Wix Forms app. Forms made with the legacy Wix Forms app are not supported. In your dashboard, the Forms & Submissions page shows old and new forms in separate tabs.

Does it count people who submitted before I installed it?

No. Counting starts when you save a protected form. Submissions received before that are not counted, and edits to existing submissions are not checked.

What is included in the free plan?

The free plan protects one form with every rule: the time period, your message, the Gmail rule and the reset tools. Pro protects all of your forms.

What if a submission doesn't go through, for example an unfinished payment?

Nobody is locked out. An address counts as used only once Wix saves its submission. If a submission is not saved, for example the visitor leaves the payment page, the same visitor can submit again right away, and anyone else using that address can after two minutes. A cancelled payment frees the address at once.

What happens if the check cannot finish?

The submission goes through. The app is built so that it never stops your form from working. This can happen if the check takes more than a few seconds, or on a free Wix site that receives more than about 60 new entries in a single minute.

Does it need anything else on my site?

Your site needs the current Wix Forms app. The app keeps its entries in a collection on your site, so the site's CMS is added if it is not there yet, and the site's code features are turned on for it. You do not need to write or touch any code. If Wix Forms or the CMS is missing, the app's page in your dashboard says what to add.
