Red, NOT ALL, "jobs left" | Held: Windows did not let the plugin delete some jobs (usually jobs of another user, or a job still being deleted). The key then shows the jobs that are left. |
Red, FAILED, "not changed" | Windows refused the change. Nothing was changed. After a few seconds the key shows the state Windows reports. |
Red, FAILED, "not applied" | Windows accepted the change, but reports another default printer right after it (usually a policy of your organization, or Windows managing the default printer). |

The default printer changes back by itself.
"Let Windows manage my default printer" is on: Windows makes the printer you used last at your current location the default. The key shows "Windows manages" in this case. Turn the setting off in Windows Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
Does holding the key ask before cancelling?
No. Holding for 1 second cancels every job in that queue at once, like "Cancel all documents" in the queue window. If you do not want that, set Hold 1 s to do nothing.
Some jobs stay after cancelling.
Windows lets you cancel your own jobs. Jobs of other users on a shared printer can be cancelled only when you may manage that printer. A job that is printing can take a few seconds to disappear.
Does it work with shared network printers and PDF printers?
Yes. Every printer listed in Windows Settings > Printers & scanners for your Windows user can be chosen, including shared printers (\\server\printer) and printers that save to PDF.
My printer is not in the list.
Add it in Windows first, then press the round arrow button next to the list.
Does it work on Mac?
No. This plugin is for Windows 10 and 11 only.
