Ideas and bug reports

Email contact@gramshift.com in English or Japanese. Ideas for new features and bug reports are welcome, and every message is read; we do not guarantee a reply time. Please include your Windows version (Settings > System > About), your Stream Deck app version, your Claude Code version (claude --version), whether you use VS Code or a terminal, and a screenshot of the key's settings page (its Status line says what the plugin sees). Please do not send code or secrets from your projects.

Get started

  1. Install Session Keys for Claude Code from the Elgato Marketplace.
  2. In the Stream Deck app, find Session Keys for Claude Code in the action list. Drag Session onto as many keys as you want sessions, and add Next, Allow, Always, Deny and up to four Answer keys.
  3. Click any of these keys and press Connect in its settings. The Status line says Connected.
  4. Start a new Claude Code session, in VS Code or in a terminal. It appears on the first free Session key. Sessions that were already open appear after you restart them.

The actions

A press acts only on what the key shows: when the request changed just before the press, nothing is sent and the key shows a warning. You can always answer in Claude Code as usual.

Troubleshooting

What you seeWhat to do
No session appears on the keysOpen a key's settings and look at the Status line. If it says Not connected, press Connect. Then start a new session: sessions that were open before Connect appear after a restart.
Claude Code's settings folder was not foundInstall Claude Code and start it once, so that %USERPROFILE%\.claude exists, then press Connect.
Claude Code's settings file is not valid JSONNothing was changed. Fix the file (the Status line shows where the error is), then press Connect.
disableAllHooks in the Status lineYour Claude Code settings turn all hooks off. Remove "disableAllHooks": true from the settings to use the keys.
allowedHttpHookUrls in the Status lineYour Claude Code settings allow hooks only to some addresses. Add the address the Status line shows (http://127.0.0.1:…/*) to that list.
Another program uses port …Another program, or a second Stream Deck app, uses the port the plugin listens on. Close it; the plugin tries again every few seconds.
A press on a Session key does not bring its windowThe Status line of the key says why. VS Code needs the folder name in its window title (the default). When two windows could be the session's, none is chosen. When Windows does not let the window come to the front, it flashes in the taskbar instead.
the request on the key changed just before the pressNothing was sent. Look at the key and press again.
Claude Code offered no rule for this requestUse Allow, or answer in Claude Code.
the Windows helper (Windows PowerShell) did not startSecurity software or a company policy that blocks PowerShell can stop the helper that brings windows to the front; allow it there.

Removing the plugin

Press Disconnect in any key's settings first: it takes the plugin's hooks out of Claude Code's settings file and leaves the rest of the file as it is. If you removed the plugin without Disconnect, Claude Code keeps working and asks in the app as usual, but it may show a hook error for a request, and each event still starts a short PowerShell command. Remove the entries that contain /agentkeys/v1/ from the hooks of the file, or put the plugin back and press Disconnect.

Compatibility

Windows 10 or later, with the Stream Deck app 6.9 or later and Claude Code. Tested on Windows 11 with Claude Code 2.1.305; Windows 10 has not been checked by us. Not for Mac. Windows: VS Code, VS Code Insiders, Cursor, Windsurf, Windows Terminal, PowerShell, cmd and other terminals. English and Japanese. Sessions run without a window (claude -p, the Agent SDK) are not shown, and their permission requests are left to Claude Code.
