Set up

1. Add your payment methods. On Payment rules, tick the payment methods your checkout shows, or add a name exactly as checkout shows it. Shopify does not give apps the list of your payment methods, so open your checkout to read the names.
2. Create a rule. On Rules, choose Hide, Rename or Move, pick the methods (by exact name or name contains), and add conditions. For Rename you can add a name for each checkout language.
3. Test a cart. On Test, build a sample cart and run it. The result shows the methods checkout shows, in order and with their names, and the ones it hides.
4. Run at checkout. Saved rules run at checkout while Run rules at checkout is on (Home). Switch it off to show your payment methods as Shopify does without the app.

How rules run

• A rule acts when its conditions match the cart: all of them, or (Pro) any one of them. A rule without conditions acts on every cart. When two rules rename the same method, the one higher in your list wins.
• Amounts are in your store's currency. Carts in other currencies are converted with the checkout's rate.
• Shipping country is the country of the shipping address; before an address is entered, it is the country the checkout is shown for.
• Customer tags are compared without case. Shoppers who are not logged in have no tags: Customer has none of these matches them, Customer has any of these does not.
• Safety rule: if the hide rules would remove every payment method on a cart, none are hidden on that cart. Renames and moves still apply.

Free: hide, rename and move; every condition; names per checkout language; the Test page and the safety rule; 3 rules running at checkout at a time (rules with all conditions), with up to 50 saved rules.

Pro: $4.99 per month or $49.90 per year, with a 7-day free trial. Everything in Free, with every rule running (up to 50), and rules with Any condition matches.

Change or cancel your plan in the app under Plans. Shopify bills it on your Shopify invoice, and uninstalling the app ends the charge. If you leave Pro, every rule is kept: the first 3 rules that are on and use all conditions keep running, and the others pause until you return to Pro.

What Shopify does not let any payment app change

• Stores in the United States or Canada that are not on Shopify Plus: Shopify does not let any app hide or rename the credit card, and manual methods (such as Cash on Delivery) stay below it. The app says so on its pages when this applies to your store.
• The express buttons at the top of checkout (Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal) can be hidden only on Shopify Plus. On other plans, rules change the payment list further down.
• Methods shown as a logo (such as PayPal or Klarna) keep their name, and wallets (Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay) cannot be moved.
• Rules find methods by the name checkout shows. Shopify gives apps no list of a store's methods, so use the exact name, or a word the name contains.
• Customer tags are known only when the shopper is logged in.
• Rules apply to online checkout. Shopify POS is not affected.

FAQ

How do I hide Cash on Delivery for orders over a certain amount?

Create a rule with the action Hide, pick Cash on Delivery, and add the condition Cart subtotal is more than your amount. Run the same cart on the Test page, then save. Carts above the amount no longer show Cash on Delivery; smaller carts still do.

Can I show a payment method only to wholesale or B2B customers?

Yes. Hide the method with the condition Customer tags: Customer has none of these, and type your tag (for example wholesale). Customers who log in with that tag see the method; everyone else, including shoppers who are not logged in, does not.

Can I hide a payment method by country?

Yes. Use the condition Shipping country is one of (or is not one of). It uses the country of the shipping address; before the shopper enters an address, it uses the country the checkout is shown for.

Can I hide a payment method for certain products or collections?

Yes. Use Product tags, Collections, Vendor or Product type, with At least one product matches, No product matches or Every product matches. For example, hide Cash on Delivery when the cart has a product tagged preorder.

Can I rename a payment method, for example to show a fee?

Yes. Choose the action Rename and type the new name, with a different name for each checkout language if you sell in more than one. For example: Cash on delivery (+330 JPY fee) in English and 代金引換（手数料330円） in Japanese.

Can I change the order of payment methods?

Yes. Choose the action Move and the place in the list. Methods shown as wallets (Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay) cannot be moved; this is a Shopify rule for every app.

What happens if my rules would hide every payment method?

The app never leaves a cart without a way to pay. If the hide rules would remove every method on a cart, none are hidden on that cart (renames and moves still apply). The Rules page warns you before you save a rule that could do this, and the Test page shows when it happens.

Why can my store not hide or rename the credit card?

On stores in the United States or Canada that are not on Shopify Plus, Shopify does not let any app hide or rename the credit card, and manual methods such as Cash on Delivery stay below it. The app tells you on its pages when this applies to your store, and the Test page shows the card as checkout will.

Can I hide Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal express buttons?

The express buttons at the top of checkout can be hidden by apps only on Shopify Plus. On other plans, rules change the payment list further down the checkout.

How do I test a rule before shoppers see it?

Open the Test page, set a sample cart (amounts, items or products, country, language, currency, logged-in customer and tags) and run it. The Test page runs the same rules as checkout and shows which methods are shown, in what order, with what names, and which are hidden.

Why does a rule not find my payment method?

Shopify gives apps no list of a store's payment methods, so rules find methods by the name the checkout shows. Open your checkout, copy the exact name, or use name contains with a word from the name. Methods shown as a logo (such as PayPal or Klarna) keep their name and cannot be renamed.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Free has every action and every condition, names per checkout language, the Test page and the safety rule, with 3 rules running at a time (all conditions must match) and up to 50 saved rules. Pro is $4.99 per month or $49.90 per year, with a 7-day free trial: every rule runs (up to 50) and rules can use Any condition matches.

What happens to my rules if I leave Pro or uninstall?

Leaving Pro deletes nothing: the first 3 rules that are on and use all conditions keep running, and the others pause until you return to Pro. Uninstalling the app removes its payment customization, so checkout shows your payment methods as it did before the app.

Does it work with Shopify POS?

No. Rules apply to online checkout. Shopify POS is not affected.
