Privacy policy for direct purchases
This page covers what GRAMSHIFT keeps when you buy Screen Blackout for Windows directly from gramshift.com. What the plugin reads on your PC (your monitors, where the mouse pointer and the active window are, and the taskbar setting) always stays on your PC.
What we keep
- Your email address and order number, received from Stripe after payment.
- Your license key and whether it is active or refunded.
- For each PC you activate: a device ID, the plugin version and the time of activation. The device ID is a one-way hash of the Windows MachineGuid; the MachineGuid itself is never sent. If the MachineGuid cannot be read, a one-way hash of the PC name and the home folder path is used instead; those are not sent either. The mark is kept in a file on your computer and is the same for every GRAMSHIFT direct plugin on that computer.
What we do not receive
- Card numbers and other payment details. Stripe and Link handle them.
- Anything the plugin reads on your PC, how you use it, or any files on your PC.
Why we keep it
- To show your license key and download link.
- To check that one key is used on up to 3 PCs.
- To send the recover link you ask for, and to handle refunds and questions.
Who else sees it
- Stripe and Link, which process the payment and send your receipt.
- Our own server in Japan, which stores the items above.
- Google Analytics on the product page (the same setup as the rest of gramshift.com). It counts page views, how far the page is scrolled, clicks on outside links and on the two buy buttons, and the rough region and device type, and it sets cookies whose names start with _ga. Ad storage is turned off and nothing is used for ads. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). It is not on the thank-you or key-recovery pages.
How long we keep it
- While your license key is valid, and afterwards only as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- To delete your data, email us. The license key stops working once it is deleted.
