If your team runs its own Gitea or Forgejo server, this plugin lets you review, comment on, approve and merge its pull requests without leaving the IDE. In IDEs that include the built-in MCP server, it also lets your AI coding agent read the review comments that are still unresolved, so the agent can work through reviewer feedback in the code you have open.
In IDEs that include the built-in MCP server, the plugin adds three tools to it. Enable Settings | Tools | MCP Server and connect your agent there:
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
gitea_pr_unresolved_comments | The review comments that still need work: file, line, author and text. Resolved comments, dismissed reviews and unsubmitted drafts are left out. |
gitea_pr_list | The pull requests of the repository. |
gitea_pr_diff | The diff of one pull request. |
The agent can only read. Approving and merging stay in your hands.
This is a paid product that we keep working on. Questions sent to gramshift.official@gmail.com get an answer within two business days for serious problems and within five business days for everything else, and errors inside the plugin can be reported straight from the IDE's error dialog.
Install the Gitea & Forgejo Pull Requests plugin, enter your server URL and a personal access token in Settings | Tools | Gitea & Forgejo, and open the Gitea PRs tool window. It lists the pull requests of the repository behind the project's git remote. Open Diff shows the changes in the IDE diff viewer, where you can comment on a line, approve or request changes, and merge.
The plugin is built on the Gitea API v1 and tested with Gitea 1.24. Forgejo serves the same API. The free trial includes every feature, so you can try it against your own Forgejo server before buying.
Yes, in IDEs that include the built-in MCP server. The plugin adds gitea_pr_unresolved_comments, which returns the review comments that still need work (file, line, author and text) and leaves out resolved comments, dismissed reviews and unsubmitted drafts, plus gitea_pr_list and gitea_pr_diff. The agent can only read: approving and merging stay in your hands.
Only in the IDE password safe. It is sent only in the Authorization header to the server you configured, never to redirects, and it is removed from error messages and logs. The plugin talks only to the server you configure.
Self-hosted Gitea servers (API v1; tested with Gitea 1.24) and Forgejo servers, in IntelliJ-based IDEs build 252 (2025.2) and later.
If an error occurs inside the plugin, the IDE may offer to send an error report to JetBrains Marketplace (or sends it automatically if you turned on automatic error reporting in the IDE). The access token is never part of what the plugin writes to the log. See the Privacy Notice.
