Live Product Search Bar: Support

Live Product Search Bar is a search box for your Wix site that shows matching products, with photo, name and price, right under the box as visitors type. Blog posts are listed too, Enter opens every result on the same page, and new or deleted products are reflected automatically on the next visit.

FAQ

How do I add a search bar that shows results as you type on Wix?

Install Live Product Search Bar from the Wix App Market and drag its search bar into your site header in the Editor. Visitors see matching products with image, name and price under the box from the first letter, and blog posts below them. Enter or "See all results" opens the full list on the same page. No code is needed.

Why are new products not showing in my Wix site search, and how do I fix it?

Live Product Search Bar reads your catalog directly: when you add, change, hide or delete a product, Wix tells the app and the search bar is updated automatically on the next visit. There is no separate index to rebuild by hand. If you ever want it at once, press "Update now" on the app's page.

My Wix search bar opens a popup instead of a search box. How do I get a real search box?

Add Live Product Search Bar: it is a real search box that visitors type into on the page, with suggestions right under it. On phones and in narrow headers it shows a search icon that opens a full-width box at the top of the screen.

What is the best product search app for a Wix store?

For a store that wants suggestions as visitors type, Live Product Search Bar shows products with photos and prices from the first letter, lists names that start with the typed word first, tolerates small typos, and updates on the next visit when you change products. The free plan includes unlimited searches.

Does it handle typos and autocomplete?

Yes. Names that start with what the visitor typed come first, then names with that word inside. A word of four letters or more may have one typo (two for longer words), so "sneekers" finds Sneakers; very short words are matched exactly so unrelated products stay out.

Is it free, and what does Pro add?

The free plan includes the search bar, suggestions for products and blog posts, unlimited searches, the full results list, the phone layout, your colors and corners, and buttons and messages in 13 languages. Pro adds the list of what visitors searched and what found nothing, synonyms (tee = T-shirt), and your CMS collections with item pages in the results. Pro comes with a 14-day free trial. No plan shows a "powered by" line to your visitors.

How do I put the search bar in my header?

Open the Editor, click Add (+) and search for Live Product Search Bar (it is also under App Widgets or My Apps), then drag it into your header so it shows on every page, and publish. The app's page in your dashboard shows the same steps and an Open Editor button.

Does it work with Wix Stores catalog V1 and V3?

Yes. It reads products from both catalog versions, shows only visible products, and uses the product page addresses your store uses.

Can it search my blog and CMS collections?

Blog posts are searched on every plan. On Pro you can add up to five CMS collections that every visitor can view and that have item pages (dynamic pages or a link field); their items show under Pages.

Is it fast with a big catalog?

The bar loads its list once when the page opens (about half a second for 3,000 products in our tests) and then matches in the visitor's browser, about 5 ms per letter. Catalogs of up to 60,000 items are searched.

Which languages does it support?

The bar's own text (placeholder, headings, messages) is built in for 13 languages and follows the language the visitor is viewing; you can also write your own placeholder. Product names are searched as they are written in your site's main language.

What does it need on my site?

Wix Stores for products, Wix Blog for posts, and the CMS, where the app keeps its settings and its search list.
