To approve Wix members automatically, keep member signups set to "Only people I approve" and install Member Approval Rules from the Wix App Market: anyone who signs up with an address on your list, or with Pro a domain such as school.edu, is approved as soon as they confirm their email address. Everyone else stays in a pending list that you can filter and approve or block in bulk, which Wix's own member list cannot do.
Made for sites that approve members by hand: classes and courses, private communities, staff and client portals, alumni networks and member clubs. Nobody gets in just by typing an address from your list: the app approves someone only after Wix has confirmed they own the address.
Email contact@gramshift.com in English or Japanese. Questions, bug reports and ideas are all welcome, and every message is read. For a problem, please tell us the site's URL, what you expected and what happened, and include a screenshot of the app's page in your dashboard if you can. Please do not send your members' email addresses unless they are needed to solve the problem.
Keep member signups set to "Only people I approve", and in Signup & Login Security ask everyone who signs up to confirm their email. Install Member Approval Rules, open it from your dashboard, add the email addresses you expect, one per line or from a CSV file, and click Save. When someone on the list signs up and confirms their email address, the app approves them within seconds. Everyone else waits for you as before. No code is needed.
No. Anyone can type any address into a signup form, so the app approves a listed address only after Wix has confirmed that the person owns it: Wix emails the address a confirmation code that the person has to enter. Until then they stay pending, marked "Email not confirmed" on the app's page. For this to work, your site must ask new members to confirm their email: in Signup & Login Security, under "Ask new members to confirm their email", choose "Everyone who signs up". If people on your list stay unconfirmed for over an hour, the app's page warns you and links to that setting. Wix doesn't ask people who sign up with Google or Facebook to confirm their email, because it trusts those accounts; if one of them stays marked "Email not confirmed", approve them yourself on the app's page.
Open Member Approval Rules from your dashboard. "Waiting for approval" lists everyone who signed up and can't log in yet, newest first. Filter by "On your list" or "Not on your list", tick the people you want or select them all, and click Approve. The page then shows how many were approved and how many are still waiting. Bulk approve is included in the free plan.
Yes, for members who are pending approval. Tick them in the list, click Block and confirm. Blocked people can't log in and can't sign up again with the same email address; Wix says a block can take a few hours to apply everywhere. Members who are already approved are never blocked by this action, even if the list on your screen is out of date. You can unblock someone later in your site's member list.
Yes, with Pro. Put the domain on the list, for example school.edu. It also covers subdomains such as mail.school.edu. To cover a whole ending, start it with a dot, for example .edu. A look-alike domain such as evilschool.edu is not covered by school.edu.
Set member signups to "Only people I approve", ask everyone who signs up to confirm their email, and put the pre-approved addresses, or with Pro their domain, on the app's list. People on the list are approved once they confirm their address; anyone else stays pending and can't log in until you approve them. This fits classes, private communities, staff portals and alumni networks.
Yes. Click "Add addresses from a CSV file" and choose the file. If the first row names email columns, such as "Email 1" in a contacts export, only those columns are read; otherwise every cell. A cell counts only when it holds a single address, so an address inside a note is not taken. Before anything is added, you see the addresses and how many others in the file were left out, and you click "Add to the list" or Cancel. Click Save to use them. On the free plan, the first 25 addresses on the list are approved automatically.
On the app's page, under "Waiting for approval". It shows each person's name, email and signup date, and up to the newest 500 people. Each person is marked "On your list" or "Not on your list", and when someone on your list is still waiting, the mark says why: "Email not confirmed" (the app approves them once they confirm), or one the app leaves to you, such as "Before automatic approval" or "Automatic approval is off". Tick those people and click Approve. With Pro, it also marks addresses from 9,226 disposable email domains and lets you show only those.
Making contacts members starts from your side: you prepare the contacts and Wix emails each of them an invitation. Member Approval Rules works when people sign up on their own, at any time: it checks each new signup against your list and approves a match once they confirm their address, including whole domains with Pro. Wix also has no bulk approve or bulk block for pending members (its help center: "Currently, Wix does not support bulk blocking of site members."), and this app adds both.
Nothing changes for them. They stay pending, Wix notifies you of the request as usual, and you approve or block them, one at a time or in bulk on the app's page. The app never approves anyone who is not on your list.
No. The app approves only people who sign up after you save your list with automatic approval on. People who were already waiting stay with you, and you can approve or block them in bulk from the same page.
The app catches up. Every time someone signs up, someone confirms their email and you open its page, it looks at the pending members from the last 7 days who signed up while automatic approval was on and that it hasn't decided on yet, and applies the same rules. We added this because, in our tests, Wix occasionally did not send the app a signup notice.
The app is for sites that approve members by hand, because on an open site Wix approves everyone at once and nobody waits. If new signups are being approved without you, the app's page shows a warning with a button that opens your Signup & Login settings, where you can choose "Only people I approve".
Yes. Type it into "Try an address" and click Check. It uses the list and switch on the page, including changes you haven't saved, and tells you the result, for example "school.edu is on your list: approved as soon as they confirm their email address." or "Not on your list, so they would wait for your approval."
The app does not record your members' email addresses. It keeps one row per new member in a collection on your own site: the member ID, the result, the reason, the time and, when a domain matched, that domain. Names and emails are read from Wix when you open the page. Rows older than 30 days are removed when you open the page, so on a site where nobody opens it they stay until then. The addresses and domains you type or import into the list are saved in your site's CMS, in the app's settings, until you change them; they stay there if you remove the app.
Automatic approval for up to 25 addresses on your list, bulk approve and bulk block, CSV import, the test box and the 30-day activity. Pro adds whole domains, lists of any length and disposable-address marks in the pending list.
Yes. Turn off "Approve listed people automatically" and save. People who sign up while it is off wait for you, and they keep waiting after you turn it back on: the app approves only people who sign up while it is on, and the page shows since when. The pending list and bulk actions keep working the whole time.
Member signups set to "Only people I approve", new members asked to confirm their email, and the CMS, where the app keeps its settings and its 30-day activity. You do not write any code. If the CMS is missing, the app's page says what to add.
