Art Deck for PaintTool SAI

Paint in PaintTool SAI with one hand on your Stream Deck

To use a Stream Deck with PaintTool SAI, install Art Deck for PaintTool SAI, a profile that puts PaintTool SAI 2 shortcuts on a Stream Deck MK.2, XL, Neo or + for Windows. Pencil, Brush, Water Color, Eraser, brush size, density, undo, rotate and flip view, selection and layers are one press away, so illustration, digital painting and anime art work stays on the canvas and your pen tablet.

What you can do

• Switch tools in one press: Pencil, AirBrush, Brush, Water Color, Eraser, SelPen, SelErs, Selection, Lasso and Magic Wand.
• Adjust the brush: Brush size - / +, Density 20% / 50% / 100%, Swap colors and Transparent color.
• Move around the canvas: Rotate View CCW / CW, Reset Angle of View, Reset Position of View, Reverse Horizontal (flip view), Fit View Scaling to Window, Set View Scaling to 100%, Zoom In / Out, Show/Hide Ruler, Full Screen and Show All User Interface Panels.
• Edit and select: Undo, Redo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Select All, Deselect, Show/Hide Selection and Invert Selection.
• Work with layers and files: Transfer Painting into Next Layer, Merge Layers, Erase Layer, Fill, Transform Layer, New Normal Layer, New Layer Folder, Copy Layer, Reverse Layer Horizontal, New, Open, Save and Save As.
• Use the dials on a Stream Deck +: brush size (press for transparent color), rotate view (press to reset the angle), zoom (press to fit to window) and undo / redo.
• Find keys by sight: a matching icon on every key, color-coded by group.
• Works with your keyboard: letters, digits, [ ] -, Tab, Delete, Home, Page Up, Page Down and F11 with Ctrl, Shift or Alt (no Windows key).

How it works

1. Install the profile from the Elgato Marketplace and open the profile file for your Stream Deck: MK.2, XL, Neo or +.
2. Keys with a small gear need a key assigned once in PaintTool SAI (Other > Shortcut Keys...). The README lists the key for each one.
3. Change pages with the NEXT and PREV keys (MK.2 and XL), the touch points (Neo) or a swipe on the touch strip (+).
4. Click the PaintTool SAI window so it is in front, then press a key or turn a dial.

Questions

Limits

• Made for Stream Deck MK.2 (and the original 15-key model), XL, Neo and + on Windows; Stream Deck Mini and Stream Deck Mobile are not covered.
• Uses the PaintTool SAI Ver.2 default shortcuts; if you changed a shortcut, change the key's Hotkey in the Stream Deck app to match.
• The keys with a gear need a key assigned once in SAI, as above.
• Not included: Close View and Create Canvas from Clipboard (so a stray press cannot close or open a canvas), and tools that have no default key in SAI.
