Point at any pixel, press a key, and the color code is on your clipboard
To get the color code of anything on your screen from a Stream Deck, add Color Picker for Windows, point your mouse at the pixel and press the Pick Color key: its HEX, RGB or HSL value is copied to your clipboard and shown on the key. It is handy for CSS and UI design, with no separate eyedropper app to open.
Stream Deck plugin · Works on Windows 10 (version 1703) or later with the Stream Deck app 6.9 or later and Windows PowerShell, which is included with Windows.
What you can do
Pick Color: copies the color under the mouse pointer and fills the key with it. The key leaves the mouse where it is, so you get exactly the pixel you point at.
Last Color: shows your last picked color and copies it again in its own format, so you can pick once and paste as HEX and rgb().
Four formats per key: HEX (#RRGGBB), rgb(r, g, b), hsl(h, s%, l%) or plain r, g, b.
Easy to read: the value is written in black or white, whichever reads better on that color.
Optional live preview of the color under the mouse, up to 4 times per second.
Private: runs entirely on your PC and reads only the one pixel under the mouse. Screenshots are never saved or sent, and the only thing it changes is your clipboard.
English and Japanese.
How it works
Install the plugin from the Elgato Marketplace. In the Stream Deck app, drag Pick Color onto a key.
Select the key and choose the format: HEX, rgb(), hsl() or plain r, g, b.
Point your mouse at any color on your screen and press the key. The value is copied to your clipboard and shown on the key.
Tip: put several Pick Color or Last Color keys side by side with different formats, for example one for HEX and one for rgb().
How do I get the HEX code of a color on my screen with a Stream Deck?
Drag Pick Color onto a key and set its format to HEX. Point your mouse at the color and press the key: #RRGGBB is copied to your clipboard and the key shows the color with the value on it.
Can I copy the same color in two formats?
Yes. Add a Last Color key in another format, for example rgb(r, g, b). After you pick with any Pick Color key, press Last Color to copy that same color in its format, without reading the screen again.
Why is the color slightly different from the value in my app?
The plugin reads the color that is actually on your screen. Apps that use color management, HDR, transparency or smoothing can show a slightly different color than the value they store.
Does it take screenshots?
No. It reads only the one pixel under the mouse, when you press Pick Color or while preview is on. The last color stays in memory only.
Limits
Protected content, such as some video players, may read as black.
Needs Windows PowerShell; if it is blocked, the key shows an alert.
The last color is kept in memory only and is gone after the Stream Deck app or the PC restarts.
Windows only (Windows 10 version 1703 or later). Not for Mac.
