Keep your PC awake from a Stream Deck key, and let it sleep again when the work is done
To keep your PC awake from a Stream Deck, add Keep Awake for Windows and press its Keep Awake key to block sleep for 15 minutes to 4 hours, or until you press it again, with a countdown ring on the key. Its AI Agents key keeps the PC awake only while Claude Code is working and lets it sleep normally once the reply finishes, and your power plan is never changed.
Stream Deck plugin · Works on Windows 10 or later with the Stream Deck app 6.9 or later and Windows PowerShell (built in). AI Agents needs Claude Code on Windows.
What you can do
AI Agents: shows how many Claude Code sessions are working (such as "AI 2") and blocks sleep only while they work. Sleep returns when a reply finishes or Claude asks you a question.
Set how long a quiet session (say, at a permission prompt) keeps counting: 2 to 30 minutes.
Keep Awake: press to start, press again to stop, with a countdown ring showing the time left.
Add Time: each press adds 15, 30 or 60 minutes, up to 8 hours left.
Optional "Keep the screen on too" setting.
The keys work together: any one of them can keep the PC awake.
Normal sleep returns when Stream Deck closes, and your power plan stays exactly as it is.
Runs entirely on your PC with no account, no online service and no telemetry. AI Agents looks only at file times and the last entry type in Claude Code's session files; prompts, replies and code are never kept or sent.
English and Japanese.
How it works
Install the plugin from the Elgato Marketplace. In the Stream Deck app, drag Keep Awake onto a key.
Select the key to choose a duration (15 minutes to 4 hours, or until turned off) and whether to keep the screen on too.
Press the key to start; the ring shows the time left. For Claude Code, drag AI Agents onto a key and it starts watching at once.
The plugin asks Windows to stay awake through Windows PowerShell, which is built into Windows.
How do I keep my PC awake with a Stream Deck button?
Drag Keep Awake onto a key, choose a duration from 15 minutes to 4 hours or until turned off, and press it. The ring on the key shows the time left; press again to stop. An Add Time key adds 15, 30 or 60 minutes per press.
Can it keep my PC awake only while Claude Code is working?
Yes. The AI Agents key counts the Claude Code sessions that are working and blocks sleep only while they work. When Claude finishes its reply or asks you a question, normal sleep comes back.
My PC slept during a long build that Claude was running. Why?
While a single command runs, Claude Code writes nothing to its session file, so after the wait time the session no longer counts. Choose a longer wait (up to 30 minutes), or press Keep Awake as well for that run.
Can it keep the screen on too?
Yes. Turn on "Keep the screen on too" in the key's settings.
Does it change my power plan?
No. Your power plan is never changed. When Stream Deck closes or the plugin stops, normal Windows sleep comes back within a few seconds.
Does it read my prompts or code?
No. AI Agents looks only at file times and the kind of the last entry in Claude Code's session files. Prompts, replies and code are never kept or sent.
Limits
AI Agents works with Claude Code on Windows (not WSL). Codex is not supported.
One command running longer than the wait time (a long build, say) may let the PC sleep; use Keep Awake then.
It cannot block the screen saver, and closing a laptop lid or pressing the sleep button still works as usual.
Needs Windows PowerShell; if it is blocked by a company policy, keeping awake cannot start.
