Mouse Speed Switcher

Switch your mouse speed by task from a Stream Deck key

To change your mouse speed from a Stream Deck, add Mouse Speed Switcher and press its Mouse Speed key: one press takes the pointer from a slow, precise speed for photo editing, CAD or pixel art to a fast speed for big screens and multiple monitors, and back. Pointer precision (mouse acceleration) and wheel scroll lines switch too, and the key always shows the current Windows pointer speed.

Stream Deck plugin · Works on Windows 10 or later with the Stream Deck app 6.9 or later.

What you can do

How it works

  1. Install the plugin from the Elgato Marketplace. In the Stream Deck app, drag Mouse Speed onto a key.
  2. In its settings, set Set A and Set B: a name, a pointer speed (1 slowest to 20 fastest) and pointer precision.
  3. Press the key to go to the other set. The key shows the set in use, the speed and whether pointer precision is on.

The plugin changes the same Windows settings as Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mouse, and the Settings app shows the new values.

Questions

How do I change my mouse speed with a Stream Deck button?

Drag Mouse Speed onto a key and set two speeds, for example Precise at 5 and Fast at 14, each with pointer precision on or off. Each press switches to the other set, and the key shows which one is in use.

Can it turn mouse acceleration on and off?

Yes. The Pointer Precision key turns "Enhance pointer precision" (mouse acceleration) on or off, and each Mouse Speed set can switch it too.

Does the change stay after a restart?

Yes. The plugin saves the change in your Windows user profile, as Windows Settings does.

Does it change my aim sensitivity in shooters?

It works in games that use the Windows cursor, common in strategy, MOBA, MMO and card games, and everywhere on the desktop. Games that read the mouse directly (Raw Input, as most first-person shooters do) ignore the Windows pointer speed, so set sensitivity in those games.

Does it change the DPI of my mouse?

It changes the Windows pointer speed, which applies to every mouse on the PC. DPI is a setting of the mouse itself, changed by the mouse maker's software.
