Record a task once and replay it with one Stream Deck key
To record keystrokes and mouse clicks and replay them with a Stream Deck, add Macro Recorder Key for Windows and drag Macro onto a key. Press the key to record, do the task, press it again to stop, then press it to play it back, which suits repetitive office work such as forms, reports and file handling.
Stream Deck plugin · Works on Windows 10 or 11 with the Stream Deck app 6.9 or later.
What you can do
Record and replay with one key: press to record, press again to stop, press to play, press again to stop.
Capture what you do: keys, mouse clicks and the wheel, and mouse movement if you choose.
Set the speed: 0.5x to 4x, no waits, or the same wait after every step.
Repeat a task up to 100 times or until you stop it, with the key showing the progress.
Stay in control: the macro stops when you move the mouse or press a key, and lets go of the keys it pressed.
Play only where it belongs: with Check, the plugin confirms before each click and key that the same program is there, and stops before that step if not.
Follow a moved window: with Position Window, clicks follow the window when it has moved.
Add a Stop key, choose from four looks (Classic, Neon, Ring, Solid), and use it in English or Japanese.
No other software to install. It reads the keyboard and mouse only while a macro records or plays, and a recording stays in your Stream Deck settings on your PC.
How it works
Install the plugin from the Elgato Marketplace. In the Stream Deck app, drag Macro onto a key. It shows REC and press to record.
Open the program you want to automate and press the key. Do the task with your keyboard and mouse, then press the key again. The key says SAVED, then PLAY with the number of steps and the length.
Press the key to play it back. Press it again, or use your mouse or keyboard, to stop it.
To record again, hold the key for 1 second and release it.
How do I record my clicks and typing and replay them with a Stream Deck?
Drag Macro onto a key, open your program and press the key to start recording. Do the task, press the key again to stop, then press it to play the recording back.
Can I repeat a macro many times?
Yes. Set Repeat to once, a number of times up to 100, or until you stop it. The key shows the progress.
How do I stop a macro that is running?
Press the key again, or move the mouse or press a key. A Stop key is also available. The macro lets go of the keys it pressed when it stops.
Can I make it play faster?
Yes. Choose a speed from 0.5x to 4x, no waits, or the same wait after every step.
Is my recording sent anywhere?
No. A recording is saved in the key's settings on your PC and is not sent anywhere. It is not encrypted, so do not type passwords while recording.
Limits
Windows does not let it send input to programs that run as administrator.
A different keyboard layout or input method (IME) state than when you recorded can change what is typed.
Check compares programs, not windows, so keep one window of the program open while the macro plays.
Clicks are positions on the screen, so if the display scale, resolution or monitor layout changes, record again.
