A live rally dashboard and button box on your Stream Deck, set up with one press
To show EA SPORTS WRC or DiRT Rally 2.0 telemetry on a Stream Deck, add Race Deck for WRC & DiRT Rally, drag its Stage, Gear, Brakes or Car & Split keys onto your Stream Deck and, with the game closed, press the set-up button in a key's settings. That one press turns on the game's telemetry for you instead of editing its settings files by hand, and when you start the game again and drive a stage, the keys show stage time, distance to go, gear, shift lights and brake temperatures, plus split times and puncture alerts in EA SPORTS WRC.
Stream Deck plugin · Works on Windows 10 or later with the Stream Deck app 6.9 or later and EA SPORTS WRC or DiRT Rally 2.0 on PC (EA app or Steam).
What you can do
Set up the game with one press: with the game closed, press Set up EA SPORTS WRC or Set up DiRT Rally 2.0 in a key's settings. It finds the game's settings in your Documents folder (OneDrive too), turns the telemetry on (DiRT VR settings too) and keeps a copy of the original file.
Follow the stage: time on the stage, distance to the finish and a progress bar, with FINISH in green once you cross the line.
Shift on time: a big gear number, ten shift lights and your speed. In EA SPORTS WRC the lights follow the game's own shift lights, and all blue means shift now.
Watch your brakes: the four brake temperatures as colors laid out like the car, from blue (cold) through green to orange and red, with a hot temperature you set (650 degrees C by default).
Beat your own times in EA SPORTS WRC: OK, PUNCT. or BURST for each tyre, each split against your fastest finished run on that stage and car class (green = faster, red = slower), and your finish time, in purple when you set a new fastest run.
Use it as a button box: every key can send the game key you choose (for example F13 or Ctrl+Shift+E) for headlights, reset vehicle, change view, pause or a control you name yourself, by default only while the game is the active window.
Keep your other telemetry app in EA SPORTS WRC: the setup leaves that app's lines as they are, so both keep working.
Your units and language: km, km/h and Celsius, or miles, mph and Fahrenheit, in English and Japanese.
Runs entirely on your PC and only receives the game's telemetry. Nothing is sent over the network.
How it works
Install the plugin from the Elgato Marketplace. Start the game once, go past its first screen, then close it.
Drag Stage, Gear, Brakes or Car & Split onto a key and, with the game closed, press Set up EA SPORTS WRC or Set up DiRT Rally 2.0 in its settings.
Start the game again and drive a stage. The keys show your car as soon as the stage starts.
To send keys, enter a key in a key's settings (or add a Game Control key) and assign the same key in the game's controls.
The game reads its settings only when it starts, so press the set-up button with the game closed; the original file is kept as a copy whose name ends in .bak, so you can put it back.
Borderless Fullscreen Keys: Make a windowed game borderless fullscreen with one Stream Deck key, and put it back with another press.
Cab Deck for Train Sim World: Show Train Sim World speed limits and the next signal on Stream Deck keys, and work cab controls with a press.
Cockpit Gauges for War Thunder: Show War Thunder airspeed, altitude, fuel, engine temperatures and tank crew live on Stream Deck keys.
Crosshair Overlay for Games: Show a crosshair in the center of your screen over windowed and borderless games from a Stream Deck key.
Game Key Guard for Windows: Turn off the Windows key and Alt+Tab while you play with one Stream Deck key; press again to turn them back on.
Live Cockpit for X-Plane 12: Switch X-Plane 12 gear, flaps, autopilot and lights from Stream Deck keys that show their real state.
Questions
How do I show EA SPORTS WRC telemetry on my Stream Deck?
Start EA SPORTS WRC once, go past its first screen and close it. Drag Stage, Gear, Brakes or Car & Split of Race Deck for WRC & DiRT Rally onto a key, press Set up EA SPORTS WRC in its settings, then start the game again and drive a stage; the keys show your car as soon as the stage starts.
Do I have to edit the game's telemetry settings files by hand?
No. One press of the set-up button in a key's settings finds the game's settings in your Documents folder (OneDrive too), turns the telemetry on and keeps a copy of the original file. The Support page also lists the lines for setting it up by hand, but Car & Split needs the button.
Does it work with DiRT Rally 2.0?
Yes. Press Set up DiRT Rally 2.0 with the game closed, and Stage, Gear and Brakes show your car while you drive; in rallycross the Stage key shows the current lap. Tyre states and splits on Car & Split need EA SPORTS WRC, because DiRT Rally 2.0 does not send them.
How do I use my Stream Deck as a button box for headlights or reset vehicle?
Add a Game Control key, choose headlights, reset vehicle, change view, pause or a control you name yourself, and enter the key you assigned in the game's controls, for example F13. Keys such as F13 to F24 avoid clashes, and by default a key is sent only while the game is the active window.
Why do the keys show NO DATA?
The games send telemetry only while you drive, so NO DATA is normal in menus, pauses and between stages. If it shows while you drive, for example after an EA SPORTS WRC update, press the set-up button in the key's settings again and restart the game.
Is anything sent over the internet?
No. It runs entirely on your PC and only receives the game's telemetry. Nothing is sent over the network.
Limits
Windows only (Windows 10 or later), and PC versions of the games only (EA app or Steam), not PlayStation or Xbox.
Car & Split needs EA SPORTS WRC: DiRT Rally 2.0 sends no tyre states or splits. It also sends no shift point, so there the shift lights run from 75 to 96 percent of maximum RPM.
DiRT Rally 2.0 sends to one port only: if another app uses it, the set-up button shows that app's port, so run one app at a time.
The games send telemetry only while you drive, so the keys show NO DATA in menus, pauses and between stages.
A run joined part-way through a stage shows times only and is not saved as your fastest run.
Sent keys do not reach a game running as administrator, and anti-cheat software may ignore them. The display keys are not affected.
