See your ping on a Stream Deck key, and where the lag comes from
To show your ping on a Stream Deck, add Ping and Lag Check for Windows and drag Ping Graph onto a key: it shows live ms to your router, 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8 or your game server, with a graph, packet loss and jitter. Its Lag Check key pings your router and the internet together and points to where lag starts: at home (Wi-Fi, router) or past it (your ISP or beyond), so you know where to look.
Stream Deck plugin · Works on Windows 10 or later with the Stream Deck app 6.9 or later.
What you can do
Your ping at a glance: ms now, loss and jitter, with a graph of the last 1, 5, 15 or 60 minutes.
Ping what matters to you: your router (found automatically), 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8, or any IP address or host name, such as your game server.
Find where lag starts: Lag Check reads HOME (Wi-Fi, cable or router), INTERNET (your ISP or beyond) or ALL GOOD while the internet is fine, from the last 30 seconds.
See drops right away: the key reads NO REPLY when pings stop coming back, and each lost ping gets a red mark on the graph.
Make it wide: Ping Graph keys side by side join into one long graph.
Press for average, max, loss and jitter; hold to switch the period.
Pick your colors: yellow and red from the ms you choose. Five looks: Classic, Neon, Bars, Solid, Grid. English and Japanese.
Nothing else to install: no account and no admin rights. It pings only your router and the addresses you pick, and the results stay on your PC.
How it works
Install the plugin from the Elgato Marketplace.
In the Stream Deck app, drag Ping Graph onto a key. It shows your ping to 1.1.1.1 right away; pick your router or another address in its settings.
Drag Lag Check onto a key. After a few seconds it says ALL GOOD, HOME or INTERNET.
Lag Check uses the ping to the internet to tell whether there is lag, and the ping to your router to tell on which side it starts.
Drag Ping Graph onto a key. It shows your ping in ms to 1.1.1.1 right away, with a graph, loss and jitter; pick your router or a game server in its settings.
Is my lag from my Wi-Fi or my internet?
Add Lag Check. When the internet lags and your router is slow or loses pings too, it reads HOME (Wi-Fi, cable or router); when your router is fine, INTERNET (your ISP or beyond). While the internet is fine it reads ALL GOOD, even if your router is slow to answer pings to itself, which is normal for many routers.
Can it ping my game server?
Yes. Choose Another address in the key's settings and type the server's IP address or host name. You can also give the key a short name.
What do loss and jitter mean?
Loss is the share of pings that got no reply. Jitter is how much the ping jumps from one reply to the next; both make games and calls stutter.
Does it need admin rights or extra software?
No. It uses Windows' own ping, needs no administrator rights and no account, pings only your router and the addresses you pick, and keeps the results on your PC.
Limits
IPv4 addresses, and host names that have an IPv4 address.
Some servers and routers ignore pings and read NO REPLY; if your router ignores them, or the route has no router (as with some VPNs), Lag Check judges by the internet side alone.
