Borderless Fullscreen Keys

Make a windowed game borderless fullscreen from a Stream Deck key

To make a windowed game borderless fullscreen, add Borderless Fullscreen Keys to your Stream Deck and press its key while the game is in front. The title bar and frame of the active window come off and it stretches over the screen, or becomes a borderless window of a fixed size, and another press puts it back as it was.

Stream Deck plugin · Works on Windows 10 or later with the Stream Deck app 6.9 or later.

What you can do

How it works

  1. Install the plugin from the Elgato Marketplace. In the Stream Deck app, drag Borderless Fullscreen or Borderless Window onto a key.
  2. Start your game or app in windowed mode and click it so that it is in front. The key shows its name and WINDOWED.
  3. Press the key. Press it again, with that window in front, to put the window back.

The plugin switches off the window's title bar and frame and sets its position and size, then reads the window back and shows FULL only when Windows reports exactly that.

Questions

How do I make a windowed game borderless fullscreen with a Stream Deck?

Put a Borderless Fullscreen key on your Stream Deck, start the game in windowed mode, click it so it is in front, and press the key. The frame comes off and the window fills the screen; press again to put it back.

Can I make a window an exact size, like 1920 x 1080?

Yes. Borderless Window can set an exact size, such as 1920 x 1080 or your own width and height, and puts the window in the middle of its screen.

Can I keep the taskbar visible?

Yes. Set Fill to Up to the taskbar and the window fills the screen up to it. With The whole screen, the window goes over the taskbar.

What if a window stays without its frame?

Bring that window to the front and press the key again, or press a Restore Windows key. Both put back the title bar, frame, position, size and maximized state the window had before.

Does it change any game or Windows setting?

No. Only the open window is changed; no Windows setting and no file of the program is changed.
